Eden.

A very slow start the first week of June so far for salmon, sea trout and brown trout. Localised showers are giving small lifts of water that do not do anything useful except put a peaty tinge to the river to which the fish are not that keen on. Fly life activity has now gone to both ends of the day, the early and late sessions better for the brown trout with the middle period being difficult.

Inverts 022

Most of the various duck species on the Eden are now with broods and the first young of the Martins are out.

The tides are building again this week of the 9th and hopefully may encourage a few fish in from the estuary, the conditions are very favourable but we are not seeing the numbers of salmon there should be just yet.

The sea trout will come good when the water has cleared of any colour and steadied off to a summer level for the best of the night fishing to happen.
