Not too much change in the water conditions or movements of fish of late, anglers are catching the odd fish to most methods when salmon are moving through the pools. The whole river is in great ply for fly fishing on the 23rd and there are still grilse running and a few of the bigger specimens.

The tides are dropping off this week which should not affect the fishing on the lower river so much. Always a trickle of fish entering the Eden off each tide and there seems to be more coming on the night rather than daytime tides. The Eden is not alone with the autumn salmon coming late this year, a very disappointing September for what should be prime time.

The trout and sea trout season has now ended, just two weeks of the salmon season left. Very low and clear water on the last day of September.
