I am contacting you all as we have been offered this prime week at Villa
Maria for the week of Feb22nd - 1st March 2013. This is one of three prime
weeks on this water which is probably the most productive on the Rio Grande.
Please look at the letter from Jim Curry of Halstead&Bolton (below) and
please look at the slide show it is a really good place low down on the Rio
Grande therefore giving us good fishing whether the water is high or low as
fresh fish enter this beat at this time of year on a daily basis.
The cost of the trip is £4,850 and there is a service package as seen
below for £850 which covers a representative with us all the way to and from
the airport to ensure we travel easily, two nights at the Loi Suite Hotel in
Recoletta and the internal airfare. International flights will of course
cost between £750 and £900.
Glyn and I do understand that this is more expensive than Buitreras but
this water has a much greater fishing potential not only in numbers but also
in size and is prime water which never is cheap.

Villa Maria 22nd February – 1st March 2013

After our conversation today I can confirm that the week 22nd Feb – 1st March 2013 on the Villa Maria water of the Rio Grande is available for the coming season. As you are aware this is one of the most sought after weeks on the most consistent beats of the Rio Grande River on Tierra del Fuego in Patagonia, regarded as the finest Sea Trout fishing the world. Last year, we again fished the Villa Maria water on the Rio Grande and we were once again amazed at the numbers and size of the fish we saw, hooked and landed.
Generally the lodge fishes six rods, during your week with both of you in attendance the number of rods will be eight. The lodge is of a very high standard and offers wifi/phone, fly-tying table and a small tackle shop. Every fisher has their own single room, as standard and the food and wine are excellent. Lunch is taken by the river in a specially designed small fishing lodge to enable easy access to the river after the Siesta has been taken. The lodge is fully inclusive during your stay.
The package includes seven nights and six days fishing. In addition to this there will be a “warm up” session on the day of arrival and you may also fish the home pool on alternate days during the siesta period should you so wish. So plenty of opportunity to cast your fly over the biggest sea trout in the world!
This week last year produced 38 fish over 15lbs and 19 over 20lbs to just six rods. Given the demand for this fishing at such a prime time, however, we do need to confirm places soon and so an early indication of your interest would be greatly appreciated.
