Eden

The tides are dropping off this week, there are still salmon and grilse entering the river. Even though the levels are getting near summer level and with good clarity the fish are still racing through the lower beats. A few sea trout and herling coming in well before the tide and there seems to be parr dropping down the river also. The trout fishing remains difficult during the middle of the day due to bright conditions with very little in the way of hatches, there is the odd spell of fish activity but the main of the action is not until dark.

On the river with Ben today, very pleasant conditions to be out doors in but not the best for fishing.

We certainly saw a lot of salmon going through and one good spell of surface activity when the trout were taking gnats.

But even fishless days are never wasted, we always learn something new or see things we have not seen before, always nice to have good company and share experiences!
