A few salmon bearing sea lice are coming to the fly from the Carlisle area and as far upstream to Lazonby this week. There have been very strong north westerly winds persisting until the 29th; the trout fishing is sporadic with these conditions.

The river at present is at 8oC, clear and in very good ply for fly fishing, today, sunny with less wind on the 30th the first of the Grannom have started.

Nieves

Nieves with her first trout!

The tides are now dropping away which should encourage more salmon and hopefully sea trout to enter the river from the estuary.
