The air was a little warmer today on the river although the water is still very low and cool, the east wind is gradually getting lighter and losing its bite. Only a couple of degrees warmer but what a difference that has made, between noon and 3pm there was a tremendous hatch of olives and the fish were everywhere.
Today I was joined by Colin Watts from Yorkshire, his first time on a river with a fly rod. Colin was great company and made a great job of the casting and had a busy time with trout molesting his fly constantly.
It is always nice when the right conditions come together, a nice grayling.
A few trout caught and a few lost.
A good day, thanks Colin!
