A season greeting.

A short note to say -

“all the very best of health and happiness for the forthcoming season and a peaceful Christmas”

- to all people that I know, my friends, people I have met or had the pleasure to work and fish with.

There have been some difficult times with the weather patterns we have experienced this year, which has often led to cancellations or poor fishing conditions, that's fishing as they say. The fish have been as unsettled as the weather has, but when it did happen earlier in the year, the fishing was nothing short of spectacular which made up for the soon forgotten poorer times.

We are very lucky in Cumbria to have all this good fishing and great scenery on our doorstep, something we often take for granted when we get a little complacent. A big thank you to all the people that look after our rivers, without them it would not be what it is today.

People often miss the important parts when they go fishing, or sometimes the reasons why we fish. Things like enjoying your surroundings, creating inner peace, the meeting and the making of new friendships and having a shed load of images in your mind to reflect on for when times are gloomy. For me it is all of that and also having the joy of watching people from all walks of life make their first nice cast or catch their first fish and to see that genuine smile, priceless!
