River Eden

From the water temperature hovering just above the 40oF mark for the last couple of weeks, today it had risen to 48oF. With the one foot rise in water level it is making fish move, I have seen new fish entering the river and plenty of kelts dropping down toward the estuary yesterday and today. At last things are beginning to wake up after the long cold spell.

Out today with Ross and Jack who were fantastic company and very keen, Jack managed a Kelt and had another pull from something as did Ross using sink tips. The weather was very kind with showers all around everywhere but on the river, plenty of bird life to see and fish movement.

Saw the first arrivals of the sand martins and a couple of house martins today!
